Write Better Content by Learning from Your Competitors

Creating original, high-quality content is important. In fact, the most important thing you can do to improve your SEO results is to consistently create unique, high-quality content.

You can learn a lot from your competitors. Review your competitor’s content to learn how to differentiate yourself and improve your content strategy.

Your Competitor’s Social Media Pages

  • Which platforms do they use the most?

  • How often do they post?

  • What types of content do they share? (blogs, videos, podcasts, pictures, etc.)

  • Is their audience engaged? (likes, views, follows, shares, etc.)

Your Competitor’s Blog

  • How often do they post?

  • How long are their posts?

  • What is the layout of the blog site and blog posts?

  • What types of content do they post? (videos, articles, podcasts, pictures, etc.)

  • Is their audience engaged? (comments, shares, are they positive, negative or a mix?)

Your Competitor’s Website

  • Is it easy to navigate and find content?

  • Is their audience engaged (comments, shares, are they positive, negative or a mix?)

  • What kind of content is on their website? (case studies, blogs, news, white papers, ebooks, videos, webinars, etc.)

Remember, you don’t want to copy your competitor’s content. You just want to learn from their successes – AND their mistakes! Find out what works, do it better, and avoid whatever doesn’t work.
